FY 2022 ICD-10-CM/PCS updates: Five things you need to know

A popular morning radio show in the New England area has a segment called “Five Things You Need to Know.” It provides little tidbits of information that you may not have heard from recent news stories but may be enlightening and can help you as you head out the door. I thought this would be a good way to approach important fiscal year (FY) 2022 updates.

Articles have already been published with a summary of all the major changes. Although it is vital to know and understand all the changes that became effective as of October 1, this series is going to focus on five specific ICD-10-CM/PCS, guideline, and MS-DRG changes that are a must know.

In part one of this series, we will cover updates to ICD-10-CM reporting for non-ischemic myocardial injury and traumatic brain compression and herniation.
