An EMR can also refer to digital medical record in a healthcare organization as part of a stand-alone health information system for storing, retrieving and modifying healthcare records. Electronic Medical Records offer far greater accessibility and portability than paper records, improving efficiency and quality of care and decreasing costs associate with storage, duplication and transfer.
