Leslie Phillips, PhD, is the Director of Population Health and Safety Services at the SEIU 775 Benefits Group. Dr. Phillips is passionate about data, health, safety, and using data to support the health and safety of Washington’s unionized Home Care Workers.

Her background includes a Master of Science in Health and Social Behavior from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Heath as well as a doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of Washington. She has worked in a variety of analytic and leadership capacities in research and public health and has expertise in survey research, study design, health equity, population health, and worker wellness.

At the Benefits Group, she leads a team of talented researchers focused on understanding chronic disease, injury, and behavioral health needs in Home Care Workers. Dr. Phillips and her team leverage findings from exploratory research to test interventions aimed at improving the health, safety, and behavioral health of homecare workers. Dr. Phillips has lived in Seattle for over 15 years, during which time she has come to the conclusion that nylon is no match for Gore-Tex.
