Geoffrey Rose, MD

Chief, Division of Adult Cardiology, Atrium Health

Dr. Geoffrey A. Rose, MD, FACC, FASE, is the Chief, Division of Adult Cardiology for the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institutes (SHVI) within Atrium Health. He formerly served as SHVI’s Medical Director of Cardiac Imaging, and his clinical work centers on providing advanced echocardiographic support for SHVI’s Structural Heart and Intraoperative Echocardiography Programs.

Dr. Rose’s education and academic background include: MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine; Internship/Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (Chief Resident); and Fellowship in Cardiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where he completed a subspecialty Fellowship in Cardiac Ultrasound. He is a Professor of Medicine in the Carolinas Healthcare System and Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill. He is the author of numerous publications and the recipient (as Co-Principal Investigator) of two NIH RO1 grants for study of pulmonary embolism and endocarditis.
