Richard Wetherbee is a Registered Nurse and currently works for 3M Health Information Systems as a process improvement clinical consultant.
Prior to onboarding with 3M in 2019, Rich served as the director of emergency services and chairman of emergency preparedness for Cape Cod Health Care, Falmouth Hospital, located on Cape Cod, Mass.
Rich received his Master of Science in quality systems management degree from the National Graduate School at Cambridge College and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of New York. Rich also maintained a Nationally Registered Paramedic certification with more than 25 years of EMS experience in a busy 911 urban system functioning in both clinical and EMS leadership roles.
Before his time on Cape Cod, Rich worked for the University of Massachusetts Medical Center (UMMC) in Worcester, Mass. as the level I adult and pediatric trauma program manager under the direction of the Department of Surgery. Eventually, he moved into the emergency department service line and became the director of emergency services for Saint Vincent Hospital (SVH) located in Worcester, Mass.
After years of professional growth at UMMC and SVH as an emergency department nurse, administrative director, and in trauma center management roles, Rich then transitioned from the hospital clinical arena and worked for Boston-based Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC) as a subject matter expert in process improvement. Rich traveled nationally while working for PWC’s Health Industries sector that focused on hospital wide throughput initiatives for emergency departments, trauma centers, inpatient services and other ancillary client services.
He currently resides on Cape Cod, Mass. with his wife Joanne.
