Katie Patterson began her career in 1997 as an X-ray technician in Fullerton California. After receiving her CPC from AAPC in 2005, Katie went onto to work as a radiology coder for a large billing company. She served her last three years there as the supervisor of the coding department and overseeing the 3M™ CodeAssist™ System. Following, Katie devoted her efforts on physician education for E/M documentation with St Jude Heritage Healthcare before joining the 3M team as a coding analyst in 2013 where she is now a clinical analyst for her team.
