Terminology standards and interoperability

Amanda Steffon, MSW LCSW, has been a member of the 3M Healthcare Data Dictionary (HDD) team since 2019. As a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in social work, she has worked for over six years in the health care industry. Her focus has been long term care and rehabilitation, as well as collaboration with hospitals, mental health providers, physicians and the state of Utah on patient wellbeing. She has worked on terminology mapping projects using SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT®. Amanda assists in providing support to customers needing updates, maintenance and terminology mappings implemented for their systems, as well as being a project manager. In addition to terminology work, she is involved in design development for multiple projects to improve interoperability in electronic health records (EHRs).
